Vacation Pay - New Jersey

I've read the several responses where New Jersey does not require an employer to pay out unused vacation time. I was recently terminated from a job. At the time of termination I was told by the Regional Manager that my unused vacation time would be paid out. Now I'm being told by my Human Resources dept. that my vacation time will not be paid out since I was terminated. I have nothing in writing as this was verbally communicated to me at the time of my termination. Do I have any recourse as I believe the Regional Manager is considered a representative of the company. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for your time.

If the company has paid other terminating employees than he cannot discriminate against you and not pay you. If other terminated employees are not paid upon termination for their vacation pay than you would need to have someting in writing.
