Slipped At Costco

Postby Agustine » Tue Dec 06, 2016 9:30 pm

I fell at Costco last month. There was something greasy on the floor in the clothing section. I was with a friend/witness who helped me after I fell. I am seeing a physician 3 times a week, hurt my ankle, knee, hip, back and neck. Suffering from Migraines since the fall.(Used to in the early 90's but not since then) The insurance company called me and said Costco is self insured and does not carry no fault insurance. Do I have a claim?

You have a claim but Costco only owes you money if they were negligent. They are not necessarily negligent just because something slipery was on the floor. They will likely claim a customer dropped something recently and they did not have time to discover it.

Since the injuries are not severe, its probably better to try to work with them to resolve the claim. If they are intractable then Take them to Small Claims COurt in your state.
