Rent To Own

Postby Avrell » Sat Dec 10, 2016 3:57 pm

The rental fees are often figured to include the coverage of property upkeep, insurance, and taxes, so technically it can be said that the renter contributes to the payment of the taxes; however, the actual payment of the property taxes to the government is the responsibility of the owner of the property not the renter. It will depend on the terms of the contract, but I would be very surprised if an owner made a renter responsible for writing the check for the property taxes. The renter should have a clear understanding of all the terms of the contract before signing. Sharon Wilkerson, REALTOR
