Misdemeanor Warrant

Postby Chadburn » Fri Dec 09, 2016 12:11 am

Stephanie,

Sorry about the problem your sister is having.

Statute of limitations deals with the time the state has to issue the warrant from the date of the offense.  Misdemeanors are normally 1- 2 years and felonies are 2-7 years with exceptions for serious crimes and differing between states.

Extradition is normally only reserved for felony level crimes.  Warrants don't expire they are good until the case is withdrawn by the court.  Some states may purge stale warrants on a routine basis by i am not aware of one.

Hope that answered your question

good luck
