i need to know what their laws are in massachusetts. if you or baby test positive for ONLY thc does cps or dcf get involed? or is it only if there were more drugs used? & if you told you obgyn in the beginning of your pregnancy about marijuana used, are the doctors required to report that marijuana was used ?

Massachusetts is one of six states to require health care providers to report prenatal drug exposure, and that includes marijuana. Reporting and testing results can be used in CPS proceedings. If you told your ob/gyn that you smoked weed while pregnant, it is likely you were reported. Will they test the baby? Probably, especially if there are complications during the birth and the baby exhibits any health problems. Will they take the baby from you? They probably can under the law, but if your baby is healthy, they may require you to go to rehab and do random testing in order to keep your parental rights. It is really hard to tell what might happen, so the best bet is to do what you have to in order to stop smoking marijuana so you can breast feed and be the best mom you can for your new baby. Doing that would also look good in the eyes of CPS.

I called this number 1-888-375-1143 where I received Great Excellent Confidential Anonymous Live Professional Help FREE

My only regret is not calling much sooner instead of suffering the effects of addiction in silence and not getting my freedom and life back from dependency much earlier.

When it comes to dependency there's not a specific form of treatment or recovery program that's right for everyone because we're all unique in our own way and we have to choose what works best for ourselves.

It doesn't matter whether our dependency is to alcohol, illegal street drugs, inhalants, prescription drugs, food, tobacco, sex, caffeine, gambling or any other. You can recover and successfully manage sobriety like thousands of others have with the right support and determination.

It was very hard for me to admit my addiction but it was the most important step to recovery.I just wished I did it sooner so I didn't need to suffer for so long
Dependency is a big complicated problem that no one can solve by themselves on their own and should seek help and support quickly.

A trusted friend of mine gave me this phone number where they give great guidance.
