Is this slander/what should I do? (A person has lied about me at work!)?

Postby vemados » Sun Apr 22, 2012 5:36 am

I have found out a guy at work has been telling people we slept together.

I'm shocked and confused, not only is this completely untrue, (I rejected him/wouldn't go near him with a bargepole in general) so the actual opposite. I just can't believe people would lie about this after teenage years.

I work so hard - I'm so annoyed that he could drag my name through the dirt like this - it's my reputation at stake. I'd heard he was a very manipulative person before I met him, and now I have no idea what to do.

He's quite chummy with senior management.

What should I do? What would you do?

I personally would just ignore it. But you could report it to management.

Go straight up to him and ask why he is doing it.

If he tries to deny then just walk away that sort of person doesn't deserve your time what so ever also he must not be very good at his job that he has to try drag a good hard-working person such as yourself down just so he can look good.

My advice ignore him and rumors completely if you show no reaction it will disappear sooner than you think.

go to human resources and file a formal complaint. if he continues take to human resources again and contact a lawyer if he is not fired.

IF you have a HR dept. then bring it to their attention.

If any one actually ASKS you about it, put on really snotty voice and tell them that you would NEVER lower your standards down to THAT level.......other than that do not discuss it period
