How do I deal with my sister in law this holiday season?

Postby burdett » Sun Dec 18, 2011 9:27 pm

My family is going on a trip together this holiday season, and I will have to spend a significant amount of time with my sister in law. My sister in law has made great efforts to be-friend me every time we are together, which isn't much, and so I feel really horrible about saying this because I know she doesn't intend to be, but quite frankly, she's kind of a *****.

She's not a nasty person or anything, but she inevitably says something or something in some way that pisses me off, like something sarcastic or condescending. I'm convinced this isn't intentional but we really just seem to have a conflict of personalities, but she doesn't know it because I've always brushed it off since I've previously not had to be with her for more than a few hours at a time.

So far, my avoidance of her has helped to maintain a civil relationship between us, but I'm afraid that's going to deteriorate this Christmas unless I can find a way to tell her to stop being such a ***** nicely.

Any suggestions?

im sry to say but your prolly doing the only thing you can do. we dont get to pick our in laws and it isnt often that you get along with all of them. just dont let her get under your skin cause she prolly isnt really trying to. focus on the good things this holiday and you should b fine
