Endo In The Nasal Area

Postby Toran » Mon Nov 21, 2016 10:50 pm

I have been becoming more and more ill over the past 5 years. I am now bedridden for 3 weeks each month and only feel better during my period. My main symptoms include extreme pain and swelling around the nose, nausea, malaise, and excess saliva or some kind of clear mucus production in the mouth. I've been to a number of specialists who are baffled. My ob/gyn suggested the possibility of endo in the nasal area but I can't find a doctor who knows anything about it or any information. Do you have any knowledge of or info on the subject?

Endo In The Nasal Area

Dear Michelle,

I'm very sorry for what you've been enduring.

This manifestation of Endo, while extremely rare, DOES exist and has been medically documented in the scientific literature.  Therefore, it cannot be completely ruled out.

I would suggest contacting one of the dedicated treatment specialists such as the following, to obtain an opinion by one of the experts:http://www.centerforendo.comhttp://www.endometriosissurgeon.comhttp://www.endoexcision.com

There exists the possibility, of course, that it could be something else entirely.  Have you consulted with an ENT; one who understands the far-reaching aspects of Endometriosis and takes your concerns seriously in order to rule it out and actually diagnose the cause?

The notion that you feel *better* during your period does contrast to most Endo pain experiences; however, as I said, I wouldn't rule anything out immediately and it's definitely worth a consult(many of the above will consult for free through their records review process) to discuss the "what if's."

Good luck and try not to lose hope - I know it is frustrating beyond words to be sick and have no answers.  Hopefully, you will find them soon and get on the road to recovery ASAP.

Best wishes,

Heather
