Corn-on-the-cob, Slimy Before Cooking

I received packaged shucked corn on the cob that was a bit slimy.  I'm wondering if boiling the corn will kill any bacteria that may be present, or if I need to pitch the corn.

Boiling the corn will kill the microorganisms that made the corn slimy. These are spoilage organisms. I would throw the corn out even though it would be safe to eat after you boil it. The quality has be compromised by spoilage organisms. I never eat food that I believe is starting to spoil. Bad odors, odd looking color or texture(slimy) are indicators that spoilage organisms have contaminated the food.
