Can undercover cops give you a ticket?

I live in the Bay Area of Cali. I often see undercover polive officers/detectives in the unmarked cars. They're not in regular police cars so I think they're narcotics officers or detectives. Can they pull you over & give you a speeding ticket? Or do you have to be doing something pretty bad to get their attention.

I'm from the bay area too!!! Bay area rocks!!!! But no they cannot. That will blow their cover.. They will let other cops deal with it.

They can, but generally don't unless you ate doing something really serious.

By law they can do anything a uniformed officer can do, but generally they are looking for bigger fish so you should be right! Just stop speeding and avoid the chance all together!
