Can CPS contact my probation officer?

Postby muireach » Tue Jul 03, 2012 4:16 am

I recently moved from a medicinal marijuana state to a state that has strict laws against it. I stopped smoking for legal reasons but when I saw my OBGYN (I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant) they did a urine test to check for a UTI as well as drug usage. They found low traces of THC in my system and by law have to report it to CPS. The nursing staff said as long as I didn't consume anymore my baby's first stool should test negative and CPS wouldn't get involved. My probation was currently transferred and I have passed a drug test in my current state but was wondering if CPS could find out I'm on probation and contact and alert my officer causing a violation of probation.

At least your glaucoma cleared up when you moved. What a miracle!

Anyone can contact your probation officer, including CPS.

I'm a bit confused as to why you think they can not. Your doctor and your attorney are the only two persons that would have an obligation to confidentiality.
