Background Declaration Check

Postby Oxton » Sun Jan 24, 2016 7:44 pm

hello mam, please help me.  i have just figured out that there were several errors in my background declaration specifically on dates of employment ... i am at a lost, i dont know what to do... these were honest mistakes and i would like to correct it while my case is still in process....its not easy to recall all in absolute accuracy when your mind is oblivious of the past.  i have already been requested passport submission and voters id last october and just today(march 11) i received a letter requesting for additional docs for proof of relationship to be submitted within 45days?? SHOULD I INCLUDE A CORRECTED IMM0008(background declaration) copy when i send out the requested proofs of relationship?? or should i just leave it and cross my fingers it wont get to their attention?? and would providing them a corrected copy only derail my case from this point now of the process? would it further more add delay for final disposition?? I have been wanting to correct my errors but i am scared of its impact on the ongoing process... i need your advice.  thank you so much

Background Declaration Check

Dear Anna,

In schedule 1 of form IMM0008 you are asked to give complete information about your history, also in page 4 you sign your declaration that the information you have given is complete and true. The information you give is to help the immigration officer decide your eligibility and admissibility in accordance with what is required by the Canadian immigration law. I am not in a position to tell you what to do and you will have to make your call on it.

My answers are intended to be of a general nature and do not constitute legal advice.
